An update for Unikrn is coming this week, and I know many of you are waiting – there’s tons to share we have been hiring like crazy and adding to our partnership and product portfolio.

Today’s update is about Maingear, a company in which Unikrn owns a major stake. Maingear builds the most insane performance PCs on earth, nothing anywhere comes close. Maingear and Unikrn are life partners and will continue to work together to heighten the esports experience for our customers (in part by imbuing expanded utility to UKG).

To my friends wondering about possibly investing in Maingear for equity, your chance is coming tomorrow.

As many of you know I’ve personally helped hundreds of companies raise money throughout my career. What you may not know is that my experience with VC has been mixed. I’ve seen the good and bad of what VCs can bring, and the reality is that unless they are completely dialed in your business, the value isn’t always there. Back in the day I built VoodooPC with zero funding, an amazing team, and a killer product. And we sold to HP.

We were fierce competitors of Maingear back then, but Wallace and I were always friends.

After HP, I joined Microsoft to start the Bing Fund and Microsoft Ventures. I was one of the earliest investors in Vrvana, helped to get their first seed round and they recently sold to Apple. I have also been involved with Razer for many years. Razer recently went public, too.

I think few entrepreneurs have as much experience in the esports and gaming entertainment industry as me. This is why we had to do some real soul searching with this deal.

Though many VCs expressed interest given Maingear’s impressive history, Wallace Santos (CEO of Maingear) and I decided to make it about the community and forget traditional VC completely. Since Maingear has millions of followers and fans this only made sense, especially if we can do it through a managed crowdfunding platform. It’s easy for us given that the crowdfunding platform manages all investor relations, and Maingear can focus on scaling their business.

Maingear has a ton of upside, easily one of the strongest premium PC brands, immense respect with industry leaders and a large fans base. They have a team that lives eats and breathes their product. They are beloved around the world. With esports blowing up, Maingear has a number of ways they can scale. They are already building premium machines for HP and Razer with much more to come.

Stay tuned the deal will open tomorrow with no real minimum investment. It’s priced VERY well, cheap compared to anyone in the space. There is no presale, no token, no discounts, no VC round, this is a real equity investment for a piece of a company that started from scratch in New Jersey in 2002 with zero funding. Maingear is turning into something insane. Mark my words, few opportunities exist like this.

This is an investment for equity crowdsale with a limited cap. You’ll see more soon, just watch this spot.
